The fragrance's story and background 

Hiris, created in 1999 by perfumer Olivia Giacobetti, celebrates the splendor of the iris and symbolizes both the goddess messenger of the gods, Iris, and the feminine elegance of Hermès. In homage to the initial letter of the House, the perfume's name is embellished with an H. The bottle, inspired by the lanterns of the carriages of yesteryear, is topped with a black cap reminiscent of a cavalryman's bomb, marking its membership of the Parfums-Fondateurs collection. What's more, the label on the back features an illustration by Philippe Dumas."
