The fragrance's story and atmosphereUn Jardin à Cythère, created by Hermès perfumer Christine Nagel, is an astonishing garden. It is defined neither by its greenery nor its flowers, but rather by its luminous, almost blond tone. It embodies an olfactory quest across the Peloponnese that culminates in Cythère, an unspoiled Greek island that has long inspired many artists. The bottle, designed by Fred Rawyler, takes its inspiration from the lines of old-fashioned car lanterns. The glass is animated by a luminous yellow gradation, reflecting the sunny fragrance. The box, illustrated by artist Elias Kafouros, evokes a landscape rich in the colors of his native land: the gold of herbs, the green of olive trees, the pink of fresh pistachios and, in the background, the blue of the sea. Here is the olfactory description of Un Jardin à Cythère by Hermès Top notes: The top notes bring a sparkling, fresh touch with accords of lime and mandarin. They evoke sunlight illuminating a seaside garden. Heart notes: The heart of the fragrance reveals delicate floral notes, notably rose and hyacinth. These notes evoke the beauty of flowers growing in the Mediterranean garden. Base notes: The base of the fragrance is warm and sensual with notes of amber and vetiver. They add a woody, ambery depth to the composition, evoking the warm sand and softness of the island. |
