The fragrance's atmosphereThe genesis of this fragrance goes back to a chance discovery by Serge Lutens during a stroll through the souks of Marrakech. One day, he found a piece of amber wax, which he placed in a cedar box. Years later, when he reopened the box, the forgotten amber revealed its spirit of preservation. That's how this fragrance was born, symbolising a return to our roots, our identity, and the authenticity of our raw materials. Here is the olfactory description of Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens Top note : From the very first moments, Ambre Sultan opens with a powerful note of patchouli. This aromatic herb brings an earthy, woody and slightly sweet depth to the fragrance. Heart notes : At the heart of the fragrance, amber unfolds with opulence. It offers an oriental warmth, evoking resinous and sweet nuances that enrich the composition. Oriental spices, such as cumin or cinnamon, can help to intensify the complexity of the fragrance. Base notes: Patchouli persists in the base notes, blending with precious woods such as sandalwood or cedar. This provides a long-lasting, woody base. A touch of vanilla may be present in the base notes, adding a subtle sweetness and creating a contrast with the intensity of the patchouli. |
General sensationAmbre Sultan is often described as a sumptuous, enveloping fragrance, evoking images of oriental spices, mystical souks and rich resins. It has a warm, sensual aura that can evoke memories of the Orient, and its ambery character makes it an ideal choice for those who enjoy rich, complex fragrances. |
